Leading Toward a Just and Merciful World

What does it mean to lead?

How do leaders inspire others toward change?

The leaders highlighted in this podcast series do amazing work. Their venues differ, but the common thread is that all are working toward a more just world. Many of their stories have been noted in the newspaper and on television. However I wanted the opportunity to take their stories deeper and to discuss the everyday realities of their work. I believed that hearing their stories would be informative for all who seek change, whether the scope is international or within a single department in a small organization.

In Carlow’s Master’s of Professional Leadership program (PRL), we explore ethics, communication for change, and organizational politics, as well as the nuts and bolts of leadership with a range of topics such as fundraising, proposal writing, and training and development. We consider how people lead not only from positions and structures but also from outside of formal positions and organizations.

The leaders in this podcast series have made significant change in the world. Their work serves to inspire and also to inform. What does it mean to lead?
